So often we hear the word “Tradition” used in a negative context in the modern church. Its association with the Pharisees has given it a bad rap among Chtistians, but tradition is an important heritage of the Church. From Communion and Baptism to Creeds and Eschatology, tradition encompasses both action and belief. The topic this semester, if you haven’t guessed yet, is tradition in the Church: where does it come from, and why is it important?
If you’re a guy, come on out to the Pit every Monday evening at 6:30 for a time of fellowship and discussion with other guys. If you’re late, we generally move to Bingham 103 or an adjacent room, and then go to eat and perform amazing feats of wonder. We’ll be covering a different topic of tradition each week, so don’t worry about having missed background information.
